Things I Find Interesting
This section of my site is dedicated to the things that bring joy to my life. Some of them may be of interest to others as well. Much of this is a list of links, as I don't need to duplicate the hard work of others who have created interesting and comprehensive sites. As time permits, more things should appear here.
Sites of People I Know
- Alison Julian's Artwork and Books
- Alison Julian is an amazing artist. Her site features her art and portions of her wonderful childrens' books.
- Shigeru Kamada We host his other photo gallery.
- A friend who lives in Japan. His site features a lot of nature photography.
- John Cook
- John Cook is an all around media wizard. He has written, directed and produced a great deal of very creative things. His client list is impressive.
- The Skeels Website
- My brother's site featuring photography of his families' adventures.
Basketball and Women's Basketball
I am a big fan of basketball in general, and the women's game in particular. I practice and play as often as time permits. I watch games on television and try to learn as much as possible.
- Los Angeles Sparks
- I was estatic when the Women's professional arrived. I had the opportunity to attend several games when the Sparks were at the Forum, but when the moved to the Staples Center I knew it was time to make the commitment. I have been a season ticket holder ever since.
Anime
When I am not playing or watching basketball, I am usually watching my second love in life -- anime. Although Japanese anime is my favorite, I do have American favorites like the Power Puff Girls and Samuri Jack.
- Cowboy Bebop
- Several years ago I saw this for the first time late night on Cartoon network. Everything about it was so amazing; the artwork, music, writing and compeling charachters. At the time I was 36 and so was one of the lead charachters, somewhat rare in a youth orineted genre. It is the series that interested me in anime and started my fascination with Japanese culture. To this day is still one of my favorites, I have the full DVD set, the motion picture DVD and several of the original soundtrack CDs.
- The Real Folk Blues
- Simply a great and comprehensive site, my favorite Bebop related site and it links to all the other good ones.
- Inuyasha
- This series is hard to describe as it has so many levels. In its most basic essence it is a love story, but it is so much more.
- Megatokyo
- An online manga serial that is a lot of fun. Check it out here.
